Individual Therapy
What to expectFrom our first conversation, I pay attention to what you want to get out of therapy so we can envision a roadmap for achieving your goals. Past clients have worked with me to:
Being clear on your goals gives us a road map for where we want to go. We then use our sessions to explore the very real situations in your life that bring up relevant themes. As we explore this territory, we are likely to find places where you experience avoidance or overwhelm. Some call this a fight/flight/freeze response. Whatever we call it, it's very common. We all accumulate coping methods throughout life to numb from difficult emotions and experiences. The process of therapy reveals that some of these strategies get in the way of your goals. I use Brainspotting, NeuroAffective Touch, and other therapies that include the body to process your traumas and get unstuck from avoidance or overwhelm. In our weekly 50-minute sessions you can expect us to:
Time commitmentWe meet weekly for 50-minute sessions. As you start to meet your goals and see things improve, we can adjust the schedule accordingly for bi-weekly check-ins and less frequent tune-ups. The number of sessions for you to meet your goals depends on your pacing and needs. Most clients work with me and achieve their goals with therapy that is either short-term (under 20 sessions) or medium-term (20-40 sessions).
InsuranceI am out-of-network for insurance and can provide a detailed monthly superbill for you to pursue reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage.
Who I work withI work with people in California who are motivated and ready to put in the work for phenomenal relationships. Clients who are excited to work with me typically feel a sense of urgency to move forward and are ready for support from an expert to go faster and further than doing it alone.
I welcome BIPOC individuals and those who identify as LGBTQ, kinky, or poly. I am affirming of your gender, sexual orientation, and relationship preferences. I also welcome people who are neurodivergent with ADHD and on the Autism spectrum. Telehealth for California ResidentsDue to COVID-19, I currently only offer individual therapy via telehalth. And following my state licensure requirements I can only offer psychotherapy to residents of California. If you live in California you can do therapy with me in the convenience and privacy of your own space.
